Diagram approvals

To use this function, you need to be in Preview mode. See section Preview and publish view for details.

With approval workflows you can make sure that diagrams have been approved by users with specific roles before they are published.

Approval workflows can be configured to automatically publish an approved diagram, or to send rejected diagrams back for editing.

Check the approval status

You can view the current state of the approval process in the following locations:

  • In the diagram table, click to view the current approval status and a link to the case in the side panel.

  • On the diagram card above the diagram table, hover over the icon to view the status.

  • On the diagram page, a label shows the current status.

Start an approval workflow

You can start approval workflows for most diagram types. At the moment, approvals are not available for journey models.

An approval workflow can only be started for the latest revision of a diagram.

The approval action is included in the additional actions .

Follow these steps:

  1. Select the diagram to be approved.

  2. From the additional actions , select Submit for approval.

  3. In the dialog, select the approval workflow you want to start.

  4. Confirm with Submit for approval.

    You get a confirmation that the approval workflow has been started successfully.

    From this message, you can access the case in SAP Signavio Process Governance.

View the approval case in SAP Signavio Process Governance

You have several options to open the approval case for an item:

  • The confirmation message when an approval workflow was started contains a link to the case.

  • On the diagram page, click the approval status label to open the case in a new browser tab.

  • In the diagram table, click to view the current approval status and a link to the case in the side panel.
