Capture manual insights

You can capture insights for an entire investigation or individual widgets. When you add insights to the following widgets, a snapshot of the data is included:

Other widgets don't provide a visual snapshot of the data.

Create an insight for an investigation

Follow these steps:

  1. Open your investigation and click .

    The side panel opens.

  2. Click Add new.

  3. Enter a name for the insight. You can change the name later.

  4. To describe your finding or provide context, you can enter a description.

  5. To classify your insight, you can assign a user, status, or value driver. Read more on the insight settings in section Manage insights.

  6. Click Save.

    The insight is saved.

Create an insight for a widget

Follow these steps:

  1. On your widget click and select Create insight.

    The side panel opens.

  2. Enter a name for the insight. You can change the name later.

  3. To describe your finding or provide context, you can enter a description.

  4. To classify your insight, you can assign a user, status, or value driver. Read more on the insight settings in section Manage insights.

  5. Click Save.

    The insight is saved.

Insight with a highlighted data area

This option is only available for Breakdown and Over time widgets.

To draw attention to specific data displayed on a widget, you can create an insight with a highlighted data area.

For that, select the data that you want to highlight and create the insight. Your highlight and current zoom level are saved to the data snapshot.
